Lavoisier H₂ Geoconsult (LH₂G) is a French geoscience consulting and services company founded in 2022 by Dr. Eric C. Gaucher, an expert geochemist in the field of natural resources. Fueled by own research and through its collaborative partnerships with a wide network of geoscience professionals, the LH₂G team develops and applies innovative methods for the exploration and the evaluation of geologic hydrogen resources.

LH₂G operates mainly internationally, advising major industrial partners in their energy transition with natural hydrogen. Our team produces soil/water/gas data and integrates them into 3G-R (Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Reservoir) syntheses to generate hydrogen prospects for its own account or for private clients. Several exploration permits in France and abroad have resulted from this work. LH₂G is a minority shareholder in the 45-8 Grand-Rieu permit with operators 45-8 Energy and Storengy. Other are in the process of being finalized in Europe and abroad. It is developing its own research in public-private projects with partners in France (H2NA, Nouvelle Aquitaine) or China (Deep Time Digital Earth). LH₂G is also the winner of a project funded by the US Department of Energy (USDOE-ARPAE) in collaboration with Texas Tech University. Eric Gaucher is also the leader of the TASK 49 (Natural H₂) of the International Energy Agency’s TCP Hydrogen.

The public results of some natural hydrogen research programs are already available, demonstrating the high scientific level of the company with articles in Nature Geosciences and Science Advances.

LH₂G has also participated in the popularization of the general public through interviews and films in the mainstream press.
